Join Virginia Organizing Mental Health Forum Saturday, July 29, 2023, 2 pm – 4 pm at the UU Fellowship of Fredericksburg

– Chief of Fredericksburg Police Department, Brian Layton
– City of Fredericksburg Council Member, Jason Graham
– Stafford Board of Supervisors Member, Monica Gary
– VOICE Organizer, James Pearlstein

The objectives of this forum are to discuss:
– The response and programs that law enforcement has in place to respond to these crisis calls, either through the 911 or Marcus Alert program or their own programs, such as the City of Fredericksburg.
– The demand for crisis call responses received by law enforcement.
– The major obstacles and most urgent areas where greater efforts are needed to obtain resources, and what kind of resources.
– What kind of legislation is needed for the Commonwealth of Virginia to provide these resources to localities?
– What joint efforts can we as institutions and the community make to make mental health crisis response and care programs work properly?
